JSC Gulistoni Dushanbe is one of the largest enterprises in the manufacturing sector of Tajikistan. The main products include outerwear for women and men made from cotton, semi-wool, synthetic, and blended fabrics.

JSC Gulistoni Dushanbe belongs to the consumer goods production sector and, according to the classification of national economic industries, is part of the light industry. Its establishment was driven by the need to provide broad employment opportunities for the population of the newly formed capital of the republic — the city of Dushanbe and nearby areas.

History

Guliston has been known in Dushanbe since Soviet times, as it is the founder of the sewing industry in Tajikistan.

Throughout its history, JSC Gulistoni Dushanbe has come a long way — from a small factory producing special clothing for the militia to one of the largest sewing enterprises in the USSR, named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR, and later transformed into a private enterprise — the closed joint-stock company “Guliston.”

It was founded on October 29, 1933, and was originally called Stalin Sewing Factory No. 1. At the beginning of its operation, JSC Gulistoni Dushanbe had only one building and two sewing workshops. The factory had 175 sewing machines and 300 workers. During the Great Patriotic War, from 1941 to 1945, the factory produced military uniforms.

In 1964 Stalin Sewing Factory No 1 was renamed to the Guliston sewing company and in 1972 it became part of the sewing production association named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR during this period the association included the Dushanbe sewing firm as the main enterprise the Nurek sewing factory for childrens clothing the Kurgan Tyube sewing factory for mens trousers the Khujand sewing factory for mens shirts and childrens clothing and the branded store Dilshod which sold finished products of the enterprises within the association

In 1998 the production association was dissolved and the Dushanbe sewing firm was renamed to the Guliston sewing company in 2000 the Guliston sewing company was transformed into an open joint stock company Guliston and in 2002 it was privatized and became a closed joint stock company Guliston in 2023 the sewing company Gulistoni Dushanbe increased its production capacity carried out repair work and rebranding
